Thanks.

I am happy you are using this facility to solve an instrument problem. I am one of those who want this to happen more systematically and more often across the globe.

Coming to this specific problem, I have a few questions.
Why did you repair the power supply? Was there no out put?
How did you measure the out put?
What was the symptom before the removal of the power supply?
Why did you replace the schotkey diode?
What made you think the diode was defective?
Were the two fuses really blown out?
Is there a transformer in the power supply?
Did you check for continuity of the transformer coils and also the fuses?
Do you have the users manual for the instrument?

Please excuse me if I am asking you too many and very basic questions. A service man has to go step by step. If you will answer the above questions and if you would send me a copy of the instruments manual by e-mail I think I will be able to help you. One should attempt a change only if one is sure it will work. Making a change and hoping for something to happen is not a good approach. Thanks Srinivasan.
