“Part
1 provides regional highlights of progress on UHC and the health-related SDG targets… also includes a focus on noncommunicable diseases (NCDs), covering the major NCD risk factors and levels of NCD case detection and control. Part 2 of this year’s report provides
a snapshot of frontline health services in SEAR for the first time. As reflected by the Astana Declaration, 2018 was the year of renewed commitment to primary health care – a theme picked up on at the year’s World Health Day…One purpose of this annual report
is to support improved monitoring of UHC and the health-related SDGs. I am pleased to report that data availability and quality continue to improve. The most recent nationally reported data and estimates are used in the updated individual Member State health
SDG profiles in Part 3 of this report. This year, the country profiles include six health service delivery indicators that complement the health-related SDG indicators. Trends in three leading NCD risk factors for males and females are also highlighted.”
