In September 2017, the 29th Pan American Sanitary Conference approved the Strategy on Human Resources for Universal Access to Health and Universal Health Coverage, which proposes a robust, innovative and leading approach to ensure that health systems and services have the necessary human resources to ensure access to health and health coverage. This is carried out using the lines of action of the Strategy for Universal Access to Health and Universal Health Coverage and taking up the main conclusions of the decade of human resources for health in the measurement of the regional goals of the Toronto Call to Action, and within the framework of the Sustainable Health Agenda for the Americas 2018-2030… ‘

 

The generation of experience-based knowledge, evidence and information within the area of human resources in health, and the support to public health policies, are central to PAHO Health Systems and Services Department and to strengthen health systems. This supplement of the Pan American Journal of Public Health aims to expand the network of key partners and to stimulate the production of relevant evidence as catalysts for action and change in the field of human resources for health.

1. Strengthening and consolidation of governance and leadership of human resources for health
2. Development of conditions and capacities of human resources for health to expand access to health and health coverage with equity and quality
3. Interaction with the education sector to respond to the needs of health systems in their transformation towards universal access to health and universal health coverage

Papers will be accepted in Spanish, English or Portuguese. The manuscript selection process will follow the journal peer review usual procedures.
